I’m not disagreeing that we’d draw or lose to Palace consistently under GP mk2 but it’s annoying and ironic that the handful of success he had at Chelea included a double over our arch rivals.
I think Naylor is 100% in the ‘McKenna was the target’ camp judging by his article.
Now that Potter is back from holiday and McKenna’s head is back at Ipswich, it’s not unreasonable to imagine he is being considered.
The return of Potter does not enthuse, energise or bring me excitement either. In fact, the only way I can think positively about it is comparing him with some of the bookies choices like Cooper, Martin and Rosenior or watching the clips I posted above.
And I agree, there were far, far more...
Come Jack. That’s just not true is it?
These were pure euphoria:
Potter is long term relationship material where the joy and excitement went up and down. Where as RDZ was a breathtaking affair whilst the love and lust lasted (up until Roma at home I believe).
Indeed. His judgement is clearly better than mine so I’ll be getting behind our Chairman’s decision, our team and our club. I’ll even get behind Potter and Bruno if they start bringing the points home.
Time for his own thread…..
An astonishing 3rd place in Ligue 1 last season with a style very similar to De Zerbi and McKenna. He was given no resources to do this.
Just one season left on his contract over in France.
Before returning to the shop floor, he was Director of Football at Watford...
I stand corrected.
At 54%, Brest actually had 1% more possession than McKenna’s Ipswich last season as an average over all games.
If he can combine possession and then directness in a game (which RDZ rarely did) like McKenna, I guess I’m in.
Tactically, think Dyche, Moyles, Hodgson etc.
“Oftentimes, Brest will seek to go direct and attempt to win a second ball and push forward, lumping it forward to their strikers.”

I think it actually sent him back to us asking for a kings ransom alongside another kings ransom to Ipswich as compensation. I think we then pulled the plug.
I’m confident he’ll get relegated with Ipswich next season. They’ve spent all their money on their manager!
But will teams want to pay...
I think we’ll get our manager in this week.
But I’m certain it’ll be done before the Euros/Transfer window by which time we’ll be approaching Potter having run out of our preferred options. I think he is ready and waiting in the wings, just in case.
